Arsenal have signed Japan defender Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna for £16m.
The 22-year-old can play at either centre-back or right-back and has signed a four-year contract at the Emirates Stadium.
Tomiyasu is Arsenal's third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Ben White and Albert Sambi Lokonga.
The Gunners have been in the market for a new right-back after Hector Bellerin joined Real Betis on loan.
Tomiyasu is a Japan international and has won 23 caps for his country.
He has also played for Sint-Truiden and Avispa Fukuoka.
